The client

Clear Channel Outdoor is one of the world’s leading Out-of-Home media owners. Across their large, diverse Out-of-Home portfolio of half a million sites in 22 countries throughout Europe, Asia, the USA and Latin America, they boost brands by connecting them with the people they want to reach, with media and ideas that enlighten, entertain, charm, challenge and influence. In the UK alone, they operate more than 35,000 sites nationwide, from Inverness in Scotland to Truro in Cornwall and in every major urban area in between.

The challenge

Clear Channel met with sustainability challenges as their business grew. Their internal business process had shown signs of ineffectiveness and lack of agility in sales operation.  We helped Clear Channel to rapidly transform and optimise business operations, without the need to change the legacy application landscape. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) was identified as a primary solution.

The approach

Opportunity Assessments  – This assessment enables a process prioritisation for RPA cases in sales and operations, in accordance with their business case value. Process Design  – Documenting and reviewing the RPA process, to ensure the designed solution is matching SME expectations and fits perfectly within the overall business process.     Implementation  – Developing individual RPA solutions (bots) to execute the process tasks using RPA software from UiPath, while establishing an architecture for orchestration and governance over the automated processes. During implementation, we supported the internal change management by demonstrating the robots and their added value to the SMEs and leadership team. Maintenance  – This is a critical part of successful RPA implementations, monitoring the digital workforce and resolving any incidents to make sure that the solution works effectively.

Key outcomes

  • Increase agility – Processes have been redesigned and can easily be changed to adapt to new business requirements.
  • Increase effectiveness – The processes are executed 24/7 with 100% quality, removing delays, unnecessary manual checks and rework. The internal administrative burden has been removed and overall business capability has improved.
  • Increase efficiency – Over 12.700 manual labor hours will be performed by RPA bots annually, enabling Clear Channel to utilize the Sales & Operations staff to work on new opportunities.

I've chosen to work with Riverflex as they are highly flexible, complimenting Clear Channel's staff with strong digital experts and truly partnering with us to achieve the outcomes we need. They are not afraid to challenge our thinking and do things differently, really striving to champion digital approaches like agile and lean, and to make a lasting impact on our business.
